In an effort to support women who suffer from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and/or postpartum-PTSD, we are sharing photos from our community. Photos that put a face to depression, anxiety, PTSD, mania, self-harm. Only by stepping into the light, by sharing our stories, our hearts, and our pain can we acknowledge the journey of mothers. Only by showing that we know what it’s like, can other women begin to feel safe to seek help. Only by being vulnerable enough to be so strong, can other women feel that strength.

Still grieving the sudden death of my mother 6 years ago, the loss of all my hair 18 years ago, the homebirth of my daughter that was a nightmare 3 years ago, and most recent my HBC 15 weeks ago. I wake up every morning and look in the mirror and don’t know who is looking back at me. I say to myself that I am healthy and can see and walk and hear and have a roof over my head and food on my table.
